Data traffic refers to the amount of data exchanged between the server and, for example, a visitor to your website. To display your website on the visitor's screen, the visitor's computer must first send a request to our server, and then our server sends the required files back to the visitor's computer.
Data traffic for receiving and sending mail is not included in the data traffic.
Every hosting package at bHosted.nl has a data limit, meaning the amount of data traffic per month has a maximum. This maximum depends on the chosen hosting package. If the data limit is exceeded, it will be checked at the end of the month how much this excess is and an invoice will be sent for it.
To prevent this excess from being unexpected, a prediction is made on the 10th and 20th of the month whether the data traffic for the entire month will exceed the data limit. If that is the case, an email will be sent with an indication of the expected total amount of data traffic. It is then up to you to decide whether the amount is acceptable or whether you take measures to limit the excess.
If your website attracts many visitors, it may be that your website has more than enough web space, but does not have enough monthly data traffic. Data traffic can also be purchased separately. This can be done every month and applies to the current month.
Cost for extra data traffic:
- 1GB per month, paid per year: € 4.80
- 25GB per month, paid per month: € 9.75
- 50GB per month, paid per month: € 18.50
- 100GB per month, paid per month: € 35.00
If at the end of the month it appears that the limit has been exceeded, the excess data traffic consumed will be charged. This is at a slightly higher rate than if it had been purchased in advance. The amount is charged per MB. So for an excess of 1.5GB, € 0.90 will be charged.
